Follow these steps to securely link your MT4 or MT5 terminal to your InnovaDash environment using the InnovaDash Smart Sync Expert Advisor (EA). Both MT4 and MT5 are fully supported.
1. Download the EA
On your first login, a guided setup overlay will appear with direct download buttons for both MT5 and MT4 versions of the InnovaDash Smart Sync EA. You can also download these files at any time from the setup guide. The file you will receive is InnovaDash Smart Sync.ex5 (for MT5) or InnovaDash Smart Sync.ex4 (for MT4).
2. Install in Data Folder
In your MetaTrader terminal, go to File > Open Data Folder. Navigate to MQL5 > Experts (for MT5) or MQL4 > Experts (for MT4) and paste the downloaded EA file into the Experts folder. Restart MetaTrader or refresh the Navigator panel for the EA to appear.
3. Terminal Configuration
In MetaTrader, go to Tools > Options > Expert Advisors. Check the box for “Allow WebRequest for listed URL” and add the following URL exactly:
https://app.innovadash.com
4. Attach & Authenticate
Drag the InnovaDash Smart Sync EA from the Navigator panel onto any active chart. In the EA inputs window, enter your registered email address and your Secret Key. Your Secret Key is displayed in the setup overlay on first login, and is always available on the Account Settings page. You can click the copy icon next to it to copy it instantly.
Once the EA establishes a connection, the EA Status indicator in the top-left corner of your dashboard will turn Connected. The EA sends a heartbeat every 60 seconds (Starter) or 5 seconds (Pro/Ultimate). If the dashboard does not receive a heartbeat within 65 seconds (Starter) or 10 seconds (Pro/Ultimate), the status will change to Disconnected.
Troubleshooting: Disconnected Status
If your EA Status shows Disconnected:
- Ensure MetaTrader is running and the chart with the EA attached is active.
- Verify that “Allow WebRequests” is enabled with the correct URL.
- Confirm your email and Secret Key in the EA inputs match your InnovaDash account.
- Check your firewall and internet connection.
Hovering over the “Disconnected” label displays the last known sync time. Clicking it opens this documentation page.
